Derani Yachts can share the shipyard news from Selene Ocean Trawler brand that the latest Selene 66 conducted and fully completed a very successful sea trial in May 2014. Consequently this Selene 6609 has been shipped to her Australian owner.
JTM’s production manager Mr. Yang lead his team to build this fabulous trawler, using beautiful Burma teak and Taipin carpet. The boat is powered by twin Cummins QSL9, 405hp Intermittent Duty, Onan 19Kw generator, as well as many other high quality equipments like Wesmar stabilizers, Cruisair air condition, Liberher big refrigerator and Yacht Controller. The saloon is a wide-body version, creating a very spacious interior feel.
The Selene-6609 owner is a famous explorer. He held the world record of circumnavigation by helicopter twice; the Selene-6609 is his second Selene, he also owns a Selene 60 but needed more space to suit the needs of the family for increased functions.
With the overall increase in the LOA of the Selene 66, the living space of the saloon received a 27-inch increase. The full living and dining area of the Selene 66 is on the saloon level and is entered into from the cockpit. A spacious pilothouse includes the galley so the cook has an outstanding view from the surrounding windows.
Owners of the Selene 66 enjoy three staterooms with crew quarters aft of the engine room and all staterooms have ensuite heads. The master stateroom is complete with a vanity, full length closets, and writing desk. The flybridge can be accessed from the stairway in the cockpit or from a stairway in the pilothouse. The Selene 66 flybridge allows for extended deck space that can accommodate a large tender as well as comfortable seating for eight.
