Derani Yachts is pleased to share that Phuket’s paramount yachting celebration is once again returning, come high season in December 2014, and hosted by stunning Kata Rocks.
On 16 - 18 December, the Southeast-Asian premier yachting destination will once again welcome Superyachts, their owners, captains and VIP guests to the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous. This gathering of yachting aficionados is exclusively for sail and motor boats over 100 feet and for many the climax of their sailing season giving them a chance to meet with old friends, make new ones and spend the three days in the company of likeminded. Having fun in the sun and during the nights, with lots of socializing, in a laidback lifestyle mode, are really key ingredients while the event also constitutes the best possible showcase for boating in the Andaman Sea.
The 2013 event welcomed 11 spectacular Superyachts to Phuket. Six breathtakingly beautiful sailing yachts were in attendance; Argo, Shamoun, Yanneke Too, Schooner Sunshine, Capricorn and Intrigue, along with five glorious motor yachts; Maid Marian 2, Maverick, Moonsand, Sapphire and Big Fish. What the 2014 edition holds in terms of attending superyachts is still under formation while the social ingredients are already being planned with some participant favourites returning.
Highlights include a welcome cocktail party onboard Silalona a beautiful 50+ meter Phenisi sailing yacht, the famous Feadship Challenge, which is a model boat building contest, the treasure hunt for both adults and children and the exclusive Gala Dinner on the final evening to draw the event to a close. Guests of the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous will enjoy the best Thai hospitality in a relaxed and sociable 5-star setting at our host venue, Kata Rocks, directly overlooking the Andaman Sea.
Phuket is continuously playing host to more and more yachts each year and it is proving to be an extremely popular destination. The region as a whole is seeing a massive growth in the number of Superyachts and some are now calling Asia home. The rendezvous is always a great way to start off the festive season and the idyllic location provides opportunities for fantastic holiday cruising following the event, states the organizer.
