Derani Yachts, the Phuket-based dealership and boutique brokerage company is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Brokerage Manager, Ian Hewett, who draws on some 40 years of boating experience – both with sail and power boats. Among his credentials is 14 years as a Base Manager at Sunsail in Thailand and Malaysia, handling charters and all the relevant issues of managing customers and boats in the Sunsail fleet, beingsail and powerboats as well as Catamarans.
Ian is also a Yachtmaster Instructor, which could be very beneficial in Derani Yachts' customer relationships for those who might want to further their knowledge and competence.
Furthermore, and this he expresses modestly, he possesses a fairly unchallenged knowledge about cruising grounds in the Andaman Sea, Singapore and around Koh Samui, areas and Ian is also a contributor to the Southeast Asia Pilot on cruising ground information.
All his in-depth understanding within boating will be utilized in the integrated service package that Derani Yachts offers to all its customers.
When someone keen on boating wants to try it out via charter he will be able to guide and when a boat owner wants any anchorage tips Ian is the encyclopaedia at hand.
Ian will mainly handle the listing and sales of pre-owned boats.

Derani Yachts will also go that extra mile in selecting those boats and to ensure that they are fit for cruising in this area with in terms of quality and systems installed.

Ian, originally from Wales, U.K, is a resident on the island since 8,5 years back and prior to that he was based on Langkawi. He has two young children together with his Thai wife. Devoted to the sea Ian enjoys scuba diving active, sailing, motor boating and fishing whenever he can.
