Currently under construction, the highly innovative Dominator 28 metre Ilumen superyacht will soon be available for viewing. The culmination of Dominator Yachts commitment to technology, craftsmanship and design, the 28 metre Ilumen is a truly ground-breaking vessel, featuring innovative technical features and state-of-the-art design methods used in its construction.
Featuring a high performance hull made of carbon fibre composite it provides a weight reduction of 25% compared to similar vessels. The high performance hull features a hard-chine with a blade bulbous bow, designed to deliver superior performance in both semi-displacement and semi-planing modes. It is powered by hybrid engines enabling the yacht to travel silently at speeds up to 6 knots and reach a top speed of 26 knots. At a long-range cruise speed of 8 knots, the yacht can travel more than 3,400 miles before refuelling, a range normally only available to yachts twice its size.
The yacht is designed by Alberto Mancini. Mancini’s dedication to light and space are demonstrated within the saloon, with floor to ceiling windows and glazed side passages. Luxury materials such as backlit white onyx, ebony, zebrano, matt oak, silk and soft nubuck leather have been used throughout to create a sophisticated, opulent feel. The owner is accommodated in a 30 sqm full beam owner’s suite. The private area includes an exclusive bow terrace providing spectacular 270 degree panoramic views. A unique feature of this space is a retractable ceiling.
Commenting on his designs, Mancini says, “I wanted to create something more emotional, merge interior and exterior space, so I decided to open the bow with 2 sliding glass doors to get direct access from the owners cabin to the upper private bow terrace.” He continues, “The grey veining of the Zebrino marble match the grain of the Zebrano wood, and both, the shower and the bathroom are linked by a soft curved line of golden mosaic.”
Is it time to see the light?
