Designed by Malcolm Tennant and built in 2003 in New Zealand by Pachoud Yachts, Azure II is a wonderful balance of design, luxury, performance, style, ergonomics, and hydrodynamics. It is rare to combine separate design technologies into one effective platform. In this case, they have merged a catamaran, wave piercer and displacement hull, which has resulted in unprecedented performance, stability, efficiency, and ride comfort.
The accommodation is laid out across multiple levels with a huge saloon aft leading down to double guest cabins and crew accommodation for four in each hull. Stairs from the saloon lead up to the galley and dining area. More stairs lead up to the enclosed helm station on the upper deck. The master cabins are forward with a double to starboard and a twin to port. Total capacity is 8 guests and 8 crew.
She has twin 25 kva generators, a watermaker and full air conditioning. Powered by a pair of Caterpillar 800hp engines she has a top speed of 25 knots and cruises at 20 knots with a range of 1,300 miles. At 10 knots, she can cover more than 3,000 miles, making her a genuine explorer.
This superb 86 foot power cat has the volume of a 110 foot monohull and has been well maintained by her long time captain and crew.
