Nordhavn 46 Classic

This Nordhavn 46 Classic is a true-blooded, full displacement, long range trawler. Designed to be tough enough to push through heavy head seas but still easily handled by a crew of two. The boat is rigged with a full-size forward mast with genoa and mainsail and can make a decent turn of speed when sailing off the wind. On the upper aft deck there is a davit for the 3.6 metre RIB with 15 hp outboard, two solar panels and a dive compressor. The aft mast handles the twin paravane “flopper stopper” stabilisers.

Accommodation is provided in a good sized ensuite master cabin with twin access to either the saloon or wheelhouse and a forward guest cabin with a three-quarter size double and twin bunks and ensuite head. There is also a double pilot berth in the wheelhouse. The saloon is very roomy with a long sofa to starboard and a C-shaped dinette to port and the well-equipped galley forward on the port side. There is a well shaded cockpit aft with access forward along a protected side deck on the starboard side.

Her 120 hp Lugger diesel has 7,200 hours but is capable of many more and can give a top speed of 8.5 knots but easily cruise at 7 knots and provides an ocean-crossing range of nearly 3,000 nautical miles. This is also useful for coastal cruising in Asia where the fuel stops can be far apart. There is also a Yanmar 27 hp wing engine and a 12 kva Northern Lights generator.
