This beautiful open picnic boat was built by the current owner in Phuket, Thailand. The open plan features a bow rider with comfortable cushions all around, the helm station area has two rows of seating under the shade of the hardtop and a large sun lounger area at the stern over the engine hatch. The swim platform has a long extending ladder with hand holds so that guests of all ages can easily access the water.
The hull is constructed of a wood epoxy laminate with two layers of diagonal mahogany planking and finished on the outside of the hull with a layer of longitudinal strip planking all sandwiched between E-glass on the interior and exterior. The multiple hull frames are also fastened and laminated in the same way. This produces a strong and stiff hull, as strong as, if not stronger, than fiberglass.
Powered by a single 440 horsepower Yanmar diesel engine with just 135 hours and a Hamilton jet drive this is no ordinary picnic boat. It handles more like a sports boat and with a wide flare to the bow the ride is dry and comfortable even in choppy conditions. With a maximum speed of 35 knots she can cruise very comfortable at 25 knots using just 50 litres of fuel an hour for a range of 250 miles.
This open picnic boat has pleasing lines and comfortable open and shaded areas. It can make an impressive turn of speed but has a shallow draft allowing it to drive right up to beaches.
